Miles, Maps & Styles
Hi Reader!
This week I’m so excited because I am officially planning my first run commute of 2026!
Over the past few summers I’ve started running part of my commute to maximize my time during training. I just signed up for the gym at the new office, and it already feels like a game changer for building more flexibility and balance into my running schedule. I stash a few toiletries at the office and plan ahead with clothes.
One thing I’m always thinking about is runner safety, so having the option to run during daylight hours while still getting in my miles before the workday has been huge. It feels like one of those small life upgrades that makes everything just a little easier. I’ll check in this summer and let you know how it goes.
And with that, let’s dig into this week’s updates!
Let's get into it.

If you want to keep things simple, these are a few easy adds that make a big difference mid-flight:
Under Eye Patches: Perfect for long flights when you want a little self-care moment in your seat. These eye patches from Grace & Stella are perfect for a flight since they come in individual packages.
Rich Moisturizer: A thicker moisturizing cream helps combat that dry cabin air and keeps your skin from feeling tight. My favorite is the iT Confidence in a Cream, available in travel size.
Aquaphor: My personal MVP. Perfect for lips, dry patches, cuticles… it does everything. Shop here.
If you’re traveling for a race soon, I have to resurface this one: Travel Goodie Bags for Your Trip
If you’re traveling for a race with friends, this post has tips for making goodie bags for your trip. Whether you’re heading to Boston, London, or your next local race, a little goodie bag goes a long way.
I made bags for my friends last year as part of our London Marathon trip and it made the trip really special.
If you're running a marathon for a charity and need fresh ideas, this section is for you! Steal these ideas or send them to a friend who is fundraising for a marathon.
Here are a few ideas you use the week of April 20th:
Boston Marathon (April 20): Celebrate Patriots’ Day with one final push for the Boston Marathon. Add a clear CTA: “Help me cross the finish line strong with one last donation”. Get travel tips for Boston!
World Book Day (April 23): Ask donors to contribute and share their favorite book. It’s a way to create a reading list from your community!
Miss Congeniality Day (April 25): “The Perfect Date (to Donate)” Lean into the quote: “Not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket!” Keep it playful and lighthearted with a themed post or reel with a sound clip from the movie.
London Marathon (April 26): Like Boston, get your community to rally for your race with $26.2 cheers. Get travel tips for London!

Issue #53 Miles, Maps & Styles Hi Reader! Hope you had a chance to soak up some of the long weekend! Brian and I spent part of it out on Lake Michigan with my best friend, Dyan, for a sail. While it was chilly, we enjoyed the peaceful vibes and great company. While it was too cold to swim now, we can’t wait to jump in later in the season. The rain on Sunday kind of had other plans for us the rest of the weekend, but we got our summer kicked off officially now that our flowers are planted. We...
