Tips for Jet Lag for Runners

Jet lag is a temporary circadian rhythm disorder that happens when your body's internal clock becomes out of sync with the local time at your destination.

Jet lag prevention is mostly about working with your body instead of against it. This post outlines the framework that works best for runners, especially if you're headed somewhere new for a race.

When I traveled to Berlin for the marathon, I was most nervous about the time difference. This post outlines how I beat the jet lag and tips for adjusting to another time zone quickly!

10 Essential Items for Your Carry-on Bag

If there is one thing that gives me anxiety about flying it is waiting to arrive at my destination to access something from my suitcase. Over the years, I’ve built a list of essential items to ensure I have the smoothest travel experience. And after taking several long-haul flights in the last year, I’ve started to refine my list.

Get a packing checklist for your next trip!

Prime Picks of the Week

Here are a few of the essential items I need in my carry-on bag.

  • Travel Neck Pillow: I struggle to sleep on planes, so this travel pillow has been a game changer! I love how much it supports my head so I can nap comfortably on a flight.
  • Packing Cubes: Not only do packing cubes help with organizing your bags, they also help with compressing down to save on space. I love these packing cubes from Bagsmart!
  • Water Bottle: Stay hydrated on your flight and bring your own water bottle! This water bottle helps keep my water cold and helps keep me hydrated. The sturdy design helps hold the water temperature (and keeps your ice really cold!).
