Hi Reader,
Fall marathon season is approaching and I can't wait to celebrate all the Fall marathon charity runners! Here is your permission to use the next few weeks as a shameless plug for your goals and your charity.
For me, I'm ready to kick off taper this weekend after my 20 mile run on Saturday. If you're running Chicago too, post about your fundraiser! It's a great way to share your race day is coming, as well as create some exciting momentum to get through the last few weeks before the race.

Last-Minute Fundraisers
With the fall marathon races quickly approaching, I wanted to share a few fundraisers specific for race countdown momentum. People love to donate in the final days before the race. The best part is you don’t need a huge fundraising event to make an impact. With a little creativity and consistent posts, you can boost donations and cross the fundraising finish line strong.
A few of these fundraising ideas include:
- Race Week Countdown Challenge
- Sponsor-a-Mile Fundraisers
- Virtual Cheer Posts
- Finish Line Fundraising Posts
Get these fundraising tips and learn how to raise big money in the final weeks before your race!

Hook of the Week
What's a hook?
A hook is the opening moment of a video or caption designed to stop the scroll on social and make someone want to keep watching. This is your one-second pitch for the viewer to continue watching. It can be text on screen, a visual, or both and it makes all the difference between someone watching or swiping past.
This week's hook:
Money can't buy happiness, but you can donate it to [your charity] and help [your charity's mission].
Example: Money can't buy happiness, but you can donate it to Imerman Angels and help support people fighting cancer.
Here's an example on Instagram!
For your caption: Remind the reader about the cool things you're experiencing as a charity runner, what your charity is about, or the impact of where the donations go. Include how simple it is to donate to your charity, whether it’s your link in bio, sending you a Venmo for you to donate on their behalf, or other fundraising events you have coming up.

Fundraising Tips for Next Week
I want to make sure you have enough time to plan out ideas for these fundraising posts. These ideas are meant to give you organic reasons to share your fundraiser!
Here are a few ideas you plan for the week of September 14th:
- Earth, Wind, and Fire Day (September 21): Did you remember? To post your fundraiser in September? Ask for $21 in honor of the date, build a fundraising playlist and let donors add to it, or promise to dance across the finish line if you hit your next milestone.
- First Day of Fall (September 22): It's the first day of Fall! Get cozy and ask for donations to cover the cost of a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
- 9-to-5 Day (September 25): Celebrate all your hard work by posting for 9-to-5 Day (because September 25th is 9/25).
- Berlin Marathon (September 27): If you're running the Berlin Marathon, ask for a donation to cheer for you! While you've probably already hit your goal, it is nice to add a little extra for your race and your accomplishment.
Here's a few more September ideas so you can start planning your month and read below for ideas for the whole year:
